George Gardi, an Italian football agent, has clarified the reasons behind Ademola Lookman’s decision not to join Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray.

Keep in mind that Galatasaray showed interest in acquiring Lookman from Atalanta during the past two transfer windows.

In the end, Lookman transferred to Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window.

Gardi, who was involved in various significant transfers for Galatasaray, commented on the development by stating that Lookman could have joined Osimhen at Galatasaray after his transfer to Inter Milan fell through, but Atalanta denied his departure.

“Especially with top-level players, sometimes transfers don’t fall through. There are endless variables,” Gardi told Tuttosport.

“Last summer, after his [Ademola Lookman’s] deal with Inter fell through, I tried for Lookman; I wanted to emulate the Osimhen operation.

“A loan with a purchase option. But his club didn’t want to let him go. I tried again in January, but this time the demands from the Bergamo club were too high.”
