During an operation in Mano community, Tangaza Local Government Area, Sokoto State, soldiers murdered two suspected foreign bandits, known locally as Lakurawa.
According to locals, the attackers frequently went to the Mano market to purchase food and other necessities, which is where the event took place.
According to the New Telegraph, an eyewitness clarified that the military killed two of the offenders during a gunfight with them.
Three weapons and five motorcycles were also recovered as part of the operation, which was directed by Major Chukuma, who is in charge of security in the Tangaza, Gudu, Binji, and Silame LGAs.
The remaining fighters, according to the sources, escaped after the military opened fire on them and pursued them to their hiding places in the Tangaza forest.
Due to their proximity to the Niger Republic, border settlements in the Tangaza, Gudu, and Argungu regions of Sokoto and Kebbi states have frequently been the target of Lakurawa raids.
