Trump calls on Europe to pay yearly reparations to US

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has urged Europe to provide annual reparations to the US.

He made this statement in a recent interview video shared by CNN.

Trump mentioned that his announcement regarding tariffs has led to new investment talks directed toward the US.

However, he emphasized that Europe should contribute a significant amount of money to the US each year as reparations.

“We take their cars Mercedes, Volkswagen, BMW. We take their millions of cars. They don’t take anything from us.

“We put a big tariff on Europe. They are coming to the table. They want to talk, but there’s no talk unless they pay us a lot of money on a yearly basis, number one for the present but also for the past,” he said.

This follows the announcement by Trump’s administration on April 2, 2025, which triggered a global trade conflict.

The administration revealed a 25 percent tariff on all automobile imports, a decision that significantly impacted European nations.

Although leaders worldwide have criticized Trump’s tariff, the administration has defended it as a necessary measure to address imbalances in global trade.
