US President Donald Trump has announced military attacks in Nigeria.
Trump, who made the news on Christmas Day, stated that this was only the beginning of such strikes.
He said that the powerful and lethal air strikes on terrorist hideouts in Sokoto, Nigeria’s northwestern state, were directed against ISIS-affiliated terrorists.
Remember that in November 2025, Trump expressed concern about the massacre of Christians in Nigeria’s northwestern and northcentral areas.
The US president warned that his administration would not tolerate this, pledging to attack the terrorists at their hiding.
Following many conversations with Nigerian authorities in response to the threat, both sides reported that agreements on the next steps had been achieved.
The US administration abruptly declared that it had targeted terrorists in the Sokoto forest on Thursday night.
“In my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria,” Trump said on his Twitter account.
Trump stated that there will be no room for extreme Islamic terrorism under his administration.
