The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Empowerment Programme (YEIDEP) has reached a significant milestone, with Union Bank taking the lead in processing grant payments for beneficiaries. As of October 2025, Union Bank has completed collating bank account details for YEIDEP participants and has moved to the Bank Verification Number (BVN) verification phase.
This crucial step ensures that every listed beneficiary is legitimate and qualifies for the ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 grant payment. According to the latest update, “If you submitted your details under Union Bank for YEIDEP, it is important to ensure that your BVN matches the information already provided.” Any mismatch may lead to delays or removal from the beneficiary list
To avoid issues, applicants are advised to:
– Ensure their BVN and bank details match
– Avoid multiple registrations
– Follow official YEIDEP updates on verified platforms
– Stay alert to SMS or email instructions
The grant payment is part of a national program aimed at reducing youth unemployment and supporting small-scale businesses across Nigeria. With Union Bank’s progress, beneficiaries linked to the bank may be the first to receive funds after successful BVN validation. Other banks, including Access Bank, Zenith, First Bank, and UBA, are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks.
