Three American service members have been confirmed dead by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) due to ongoing military operations related to the conflict with Iran, and five others have suffered serious injuries.

The command stated officially that combat operations are still ongoing and noted that additional personnel have sustained minor injuries and are receiving medical treatment.

The names of the deceased soldiers are being kept secret until their families have been notified.

The sacrifice of the service members was honored by the U.S. military, which characterized their deaths as a grave reminder of the dangers encountered by troops sent to active combat areas.
