The United States Bureau of Counterterrorism has recognized the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its vital role in the fight against terrorism and its counterinsurgency efforts in Nigeria.
This recognition was shared in a statement by Group Capt. Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, on Wednesday in Abuja.
During a high-level meeting in Abuja, Jessica Long, the Acting Principal Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism, commended the NAF for its recent achievements in disrupting terrorist networks. She also highlighted the NAF’s use of innovative, intelligence-based strategies, which have been effective in neutralizing insurgent threats.
Long stressed the significance of international collaboration in tackling evolving security challenges.
The NAF reaffirmed its dedication to national security and ensuring the safety of civilians during military operations.
The meeting also focused on strategies to strengthen security cooperation, improve intelligence sharing, and enhance counterterrorism efforts between the US and Nigeria.
The US reiterated its ongoing support for the NAF’s counterterrorism initiatives, emphasizing the importance of advancing precision-driven operations for increased effectiveness.
