According to Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State, he was unaware that his political colleagues were purchasing votes for him.
This comes just hours after he won in each of the state’s 18 local government districts.
According to ZINGTIE, following his election victory on November 16, the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate was charged with vote-buying.
The governor did, however, point out in a Sunday night interview with Channel TV that the opposition is exploiting the vote-buying accusation as a justification for their defeat.
“I’m not aware of such. The opposition will want to say that to make excuses for their failure, but for us, it is what we worked for; the people have spoken through their votes.
” There won’t be any reason to buy votes because Ondo people know what they want. I’m not aware of people buying votes on my behalf.”
