On Monday, officials from the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigeria Police took control of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

They secured the assembly at Alausa, Ikeja, to ensure sufficient protection.

Mojisola Meranda, the Speaker of the House, reportedly arrived around 12 pm with her convoy.

After her arrival, the House proceeded with plenary, with the lawmakers expressing trust in her leadership.

It was reported that the recently removed speaker, Obasa, was dismissed by 32 out of 40 members of the House on January 13, 2025, while he was in the United States.
