In a terrifying story of the recent church incident in Kwara, a survivor revealed the number of worshipers that were kidnapped.

GistReel previously reported that gunmen assaulted the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Unverified sources state that the church raid claimed the lives of three persons.

The elderly survivor revealed in an interview with BBC News that the congregants started to run as soon as the shooters opened fire.
He said that the shooters ordered the worshipers to lie on the ground after attacking the church security guard.

The elderly survivor revealed that the shooters kidnapped thirty congregants, and the kidnappers had not yet made contact.

A Nigerian farmer, meanwhile, lamented her cousin’s kidnapping during the Kwara church attack on social media.

The female farmer revealed that her cousin and her infant were kidnapped in a Facebook post that has gone viral.

In addition, President Bola Tinubu delayed his international travels in order to concentrate on security briefings, while the Kwara State administration closed schools in five districts to deter further assaults.

Nigeria has also been reclassified by the US as a “Country of Particular Concern.”
