Social media users are in stitches over a Nigerian woman’s ruse to get a big grant by tricking her father.

In order to qualify for a N5 million award, the woman persuaded her father to pretend to be incapacitated by saying he had had a stroke.

Her father demonstrated his remarkable acting abilities by portraying a person with a disability in the video that @egooyibooooo uploaded to TikTok.

He had suffered from the illness for eight years, according to his daughter, who gave a running commentary.

“We are here to apply for the N5million grant for the disabled. My daddy has been down with stroke for eight years now,” she said.

Her father, however, temporarily stopped performing when he started to worry about the possible repercussions of the practical joke.

As the video went on, he became increasingly worried about his reputation and frantically asked if his siblings would see it if it went viral.

He played along despite his initial reservations, receiving praise from his daughter, who used the term “paid actor” in jest.

In her words: “Pranked my dad to act disabled for N5 million disabled people grant. My dad is a paid actor for real.”
