In a terrifying tale posted online, a Nigerian-American woman claims that when visiting Nigeria for her traditional wedding, her ex-husband’s relatives endangered her life.

She stated that she had already married her spouse in the United States and assisted him with his immigration paperwork in the now-viral video. She claimed that things took a terrible turn when she went to her husband’s hometown of Ibadan, Nigeria, to finish their traditional wedding.

She claims that even though the family was well-off and owned auto dealerships, they would not give her a suitable vehicle for transportation. She finally received a 2010 Toyota RAV4 after much haggling, which she claimed felt “off” right away.

The car broke down on a highway while traveling to Ibadan for a radio interview. Things worsened after a mechanic was called in after military officials warned them to leave the area because of the continued kidnappings.

The mechanic reportedly discovered that the coolant system was dry, the gas tank had a hole in it, and the brakes had no fluid and might have been cut. She was informed that if they had kept driving, the car might have exploded.

According to reports, calls to her husband’s parents were not returned. In response, the family stated that they had merely made sure “if the car turned on.” She thought the answer was dubious because of their position and experience in the auto sector.

She asserted that if she had died, her husband would have benefited since he would have been qualified for a green card or U.S. citizenship as a widower.

She claimed that to make things worse, her ex-husband later attempted to have her sign a gag order that would have prevented her from sharing her experience in public, but she refused.

“I was expected to stay quiet,” she said. “But this story needs to be heard.”
