In her account of a husband who fled after his wife gave birth to a child without hands, a Nigerian nurse has advised women not to become pregnant unless they are financially prepared.
She revealed this in a long statement in a video that was uploaded to her page on the well-known social media site TikTok.
In the video, she counselled women to wait until they are genuinely ready to get pregnant rather than getting pregnant just because they feel forced by their age or because they are getting older.
She gave the example of a recent medical episode.
A woman recently gave birth to a child who was born with abnormalities, specifically without hands, she said.
The baby’s condition caused the husband to flee when he arrived to check on him.
The new mother broke down in tears, lamenting her choice to become a mother.
The nurse’s statement read: “As a young woman, if you’ve decided to get pregnant, be ready to carry that pregnancy yourself. Many of you think you need to get pregnant because you’re turning 26 and feel like you’re getting old, but pregnancy isn’t for the weak.”
“Once you’re pregnant, it’s money today, tomorrow, and forever, and sometimes, these men lack compassion.”
“A lady recently gave birth to a baby with malformations, and when the husband saw the baby was born without fingers, he ran away. The woman cried and began regretting her decision to get pregnant, saying, ‘Who told me to get pregnant? I thought I was doing this for this so-called man who is now running away from his responsibility.”
Many worried people flocked to the comment area to express their opinions as the nurse told her story.
