Cleric Agbala Gabriel, who is based in Ibadan, recently shared a moving story on Facebook Live.
According to reports, the professor—whose name is not revealed in the video—left Nigeria in the 1970s in order to seek academic and professional prospects in Canada
He developed a career as an educator over the course of 48 years, making contributions to the academic community in his new nation.
But as the video shows, his return to Nigeria occurs under very different circumstances than one might anticipate after spending so much time overseas. His homecoming presents a grim image of loneliness and resiliency, as he has no wife, no children, and no money.
