Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women’s Affairs and Social Development, has returned to Nollywood with a new film.
President Bola Tinubu named Kennedy-Ohanenye as Minister of Women Affairs on August 21, 2023.
On October 23, 2024, Tinubu fired her and four other ministers from his cabinet.
After leaving office, the 51-year-old politician pursued a career in Nigeria’s film industry.
Kennedy-Ohanenye announced the release of her latest film, ‘Hatred’, in an X post on Wednesday.
The former minister also uploaded a link to the film on Kenuj TV on YouTube, a video streaming platform.

She has previously appeared in films including ‘Saving My Marriage’, ‘Hunting the Angel’, ‘Royal Ploy’, and ‘The Cow Girls’.
Kennedy-Ohanenye has collaborated with prominent industry figures such as Segun Arinze, Ngozi Ezeonu, Linda Osifo, and Francis Duru, among others.
Kennedy-Ohanenye is a lawyer and entrepreneur in addition to her performing career. In 2015, she joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During the 2023 general elections, she launched her candidature for president, becoming the first woman to do so under the APC.
She then withdrew from the presidential race and officially supported Tinubu.
