A man has disclosed that he stopped going to his church when the pastor urged congregation members to pay money to buy a car for his wife.

In a post on X (previously Twitter), the man claimed that he left the church when the pastor, who already possessed five automobiles, informed the audience that his wife, “Mummy,” did not have a car and begged them to donate to help her buy one.

He wrote: “I left my previous church the day my pastor with five automobiles told us, ‘Mummy does not have her own car. Let us get her one. I knew I was in the wrong location.”

Though he did not identify the church’s name, his admission triggered emotions online, with many social media users crowding the comments section to share their thoughts.

@olulade15: “It’s been two years & some months I av gone to church & I feel no remorse at all. Most churches are business centre. The day I realized if I kneel down in my room & pray to God he answers I stopped. I only attend prayer programmes quarterly, half year or at d end of d year.”
