Pastor Terry Jackson of True Vine Apostolic Church of Christ in Hampton, Virginia, is facing backlash online after forcing a woman to stand in front of the congregation to apologise for being pregnant before denying her a baby shower.

Pastor Terry Jackson of True Vine Apostolic Church of Christ in Hampton, Virginia, on Sunday, January 5, is seen ordering a young woman to stand in the centre of the church to address the entire congregation.

“I want to apologise to everybody in here because I am pregnant,” the girl began her speech in a shaky voice before breaking down in tears.

“I just hope that y’all forgive me,” the girl concluded and walked away with her head bowed.

Following her speech, the pastor stood up to declare that the church does not condone sin and that she would not be given a baby shower because she was pregnant out of wedlock.

The video has caused outrage online, with many people wondering why the man who got her pregnant was not also shamed.
