Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has reportedly agreed to a new 14-year, $500 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to multiple media sources.

The leaked details of the deal, shared on Sunday, indicate that there is no deferred money involved.

This contract is only surpassed by Juan Soto’s 15-year deal worth $765 million, signed in December.

Guerrero, a four-time All-Star and MVP runner-up in 2021, was set to become a free agent at the end of this season.

By securing him with a new contract now, the Blue Jays avoid a potentially expensive bidding war in free agency.

The 26-year-old has hit 160 home runs, driven in 511 RBIs, and holds a .287 batting average over 829 career games.

Last season, Guerrero hit 30 home runs, recorded 103 RBIs, and posted a .323/.396/.544 batting line.

So far this season, he’s hitting .256 with no home runs and four RBIs over 10 games.
