As the Foreign Secretary claimed it would take him a century to conquer Ukraine, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was mercilessly ridiculed in the House of Commons.

According to Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Russia’s economy has been devastated by Putin’s brutal war, which has also claimed countless lives.

He did, however, also draw attention to the immense hardship endured by the Ukrainian people and declare that the UK would always stand by Ukraine.

Speaking to lawmakers, Mr. Lammy discussed the UK and Ukraine’s projected 100-year cooperation, which includes a pledge to give £3 billion in annual military assistance for as long as it takes.

He said: “Putins’ position is not one of strength. The invasion has been a monumental strategic failure and pressure is mounting.

“Russia’s casualty rate is staggering, the highest number of military casualties the countryhas suffered since the second world war.

“Russia is more insecure than it was before the war, and for what?

“Russia gained some territory last year, yes. Fields and small settlements left barren by relentless bombardment, taken at a rate so slow they would need a century to take all of Ukraine.”

He said Russia was suffering “spiralling inflation with basic goods like butter unaffordable.”

He stated that for three years the war has gone on and “he must not let up now. Putin hopes that the world lacks his resolve. We need to call his bluff to prove him wrong.”

Additionally, Mr. Lammy said that a Putin victory would “seriously undermine” the post-war system with respected borders.

“Today, tomorrow, and for generations to come, we stand firmly with Ukraine,” he declared. Their cause is just.”

Putin “shows no sign of wanting peace” and just wants “the subjugation of the Ukrainian people,” he claimed, while Ukrainians are “fighting back courageously.”

Conservatives who have backed the government’s strategy of supporting Ukraine endorsed the remarks.

To support the expansion and financial stability of Ukraine’s small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the foundation of the nation’s economy, the UK has announced £40 million for a new economic recovery program that would release hundreds of millions of pounds in private loans.

Through the program’s support of Ukraine’s vital growth industries, UK businesses will have more chances for trade and investment with one of our closest allies. Businesses that promote the green economy as well as under-represented populations like women and veterans will be the focus of the investment.

The program, known as TIGER (Triggering Investment Growth and Economic Resilience), aims to help Ukrainian towns become more resilient economically and less dependent on humanitarian aid in the long run.

Additionally, a new Grain Verification Scheme will be introduced as part of the cooperation to trace grain that has been stolen from seized Ukrainian territory.

After Ukraine asked the G7 to assist in tracking down stolen grain from Ukrainian farms under Russian control, which is subsequently rebranded and sold, the UK created the new program.

The UK has created a database to assist Ukraine in tracking down and preventing grain theft from occupied areas by using state-of-the-art science to help identify where grain has been planted and gathered.
