Wake up from your sleeping bed – Peter Obi taunts Tinubu

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the general election of 2023, has urged President Bola Tinubu to take action in response to the nation’s worsening security situation.

Following the gruesome murders of Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti by alleged kidnappers, an appeal has been filed.

Suspected kidnappers slew two traditional rulers in Ekiti State.

On Monday, gunmen ambushed the monarchs along a community in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State as they were driving a car driven by one of their colleagues, the Alara of Ikole Ekiti, on their way back from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti.

Obi, expressing profound worry, urged the president to “wake up from his sleeping bed and save Nigeria from total collapse” on his official X handle on Monday.

He wrote, “We are saddened by the report that Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were murdered earlier today (Monday), cause of death: Insecurity and Tinubu.

Obi underlined the gravity of the issue by saying, “We call on Tinubu to wake up from his sleeping bed and save Nigeria from total collapse. Don’t speak up today. Tomorrow, insecurity might consume you or a loved one.”
