Hossein Amir-Abdullahi, Iran’s foreign minister, claimed that the initial strike on Israel was a warning.
Iran might choose to strike Israel’s economic ports as well as the towns of Tel Aviv and Haifa, according to Amir-Abdullahi.
On Friday, while in the US for the United Nations Security Council, he had an interview with Tom Llamas of NBC News.
Iran, according to Amir-Abdullahi, has no intention of retaliating until Israel launches a major attack.
He said: “We could have hit Haifa and Tel Aviv.
“We could have also targeted all the economic ports of Israel.
“But our red lines were civilians.
“We only had a military purpose.
“As long as there is no new adventurism by Israel against our interests, then we are not going to have any new reactions.
“If Israel takes decisive action against my country, this is proven to us.
“Our response will be immediate and to the maximum and will cause them to regret it.”
Additionally, he compared the weaponry used to attack his nation to toys for kids.
Amir-abdollahian made his statement amid rumours that Israel was attacking Iran in retaliation.
Iran launched a volley of drone strikes and missiles at Israel over the weekend in retribution for the attack on April 1 in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of several of its generals.
Israel did not orchestrate the recent attack on Iran, the Iranian Foreign Minister could not disclose.
“What happened last night was not a strike.
“They were more like toys that our children play with – not drones,” he said.
