Twenty-five alleged online scammers were taken arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at a cybercrime training facility in Benin, the capital of Edo state.
Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC, made this announcement on Friday in Abuja.
According to Oyewale, reliable intelligence led to the suspects’ Thursday arrest at their hideout in Benin City.
He said that a “yahoo” academy or training school for online fraud and other fraudulent acts is operating out of the flat.
”Items recovered from the suspects include six exotic cars, laptops and phones.
”The suspects will be charged to court, as soon as investigations are concluded,” he said.
