According to the Edo State Police Command, the State Criminal Investigation Department, or SCID, has taken over the case of Abigail Oluwarotimi, a 31-year-old housewife who was arrested for allegedly injuring a primary school student’s private area.
According to ZINGTIE, Moses Yamu, the Command’s spokesperson, provided newsmen with a statement from Commissioner of Police Umoru Ozigi that revealed this information.
According to the statement, the case was forwarded to the SCID for a comprehensive and private investigation.
Umoru clarified that on January 11, 2025, at 7:45 p.m., the Command was notified that Abigail Oluwarotimi had burned a metal object and then used it to burn her 15-year-old house help, Jude Joseph.
He claimed that the victim’s lap and genitalia were injured as a result of the housewife’s activity.
“The suspect was promptly arrested. She confessed to the crime and blamed her actions on the allegation that the boy molested her children. The victim is currently receiving treatment.
“The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, Umoru Ozigi, was concerned about the development and he ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet investigation.
“The Command, therefore, warned the general public against taking laws into their hands, while emphasizing the importance of allowing the law take its course,” the statement said.
