Rufai Oseni, the anchor of Arise Television’s Morning Show, stated that European Union countries are unlikely to support US President Donald Trump in any confrontation with Iran, as several EU nations already have agreements permitting their ships to transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

During the programme on Monday, Oseni mentioned that countries including France and Denmark have reportedly established agreements with Iran that allow their ships to travel through the strategic waterway without interruption.

He believes that, given that these nations can currently navigate their vessels through the strait, they might not find much justification for backing US involvement that could jeopardize their current arrangements.

Oseni contended that Trump’s rapport with European allies has been under tension, implying that his method of handling international relations might hinder him from obtaining their collaboration.

Oseni said: “Most of the EU nations already have deals with iran. Their ships are getting through anyway.

“France got their ship through. Denmark got their ships through. They’ve been able to do deals with Iran to get their ship across the Strait of Hormuz.

“So those countries are getting their ships out anyway, so they don’t need America and Trump to come and interrupt their deals with Iran hitherto, and they’re getting their ships across the Strait.

“They’re not going to listen to him, and he doesn’t even respect them anyway. Does he respect anybody? When he’s beginning to look at Cuba next to invade.

“He’s saying now that before talks can progress in Cuba, the leader has to leave – a leader of a sovereign country. So these bullying tactics continue.

“I’m happy that they are telling that this war has got nothing to do with NATO, because what really concerns NATO, you disappointed NATO members.

“I’m talking about Ukraine, the same Ukraine you couldn’t stand up for you, skewed the war in favor of Putin. That’s the same Ukraine you are begging today to come and give you their technology to be able to tackle the Iranian drones.

“That’s why you can see what is happening. In fact, it’s Iran’s affiliate that did that strike against the American Embassy in Iraq, in the green zone for that matter.”
