According to his last intentions, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, the late Kano billionaire and elder statesman, will be buried in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

His family revealed that he made a will stating his wish to be buried next to his late wife, Rabi Dantata, who died in 2023, despite the fact that many had anticipated his burial ceremonies to be held in Kano.

His remains have been sent to Saudi Arabia, where plans are in progress to bury him in the holy city of Madina, according to family sources.

The Council of Ulamas in Kano has declared that a Janazah prayer, known as Salatu Ghaib, shall be held in his honor in absentia in remembrance of his extraordinary life and legacy. The Umar bn Khathab Mosque in Dangi, Kano State, will host the specific Islamic prayer that is conducted when the deceased’s body is not physically present.

Alhaji Dantata, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), following a brief illness, was well-known for his business savvy and charitable contributions. His departure has prompted memorials from all throughout Nigeria and beyond, with many people remembering his contributions to community development, education, and business.
