Afrobeats artist Gabriel Oche Amanyi, widely known as Terry G, has shared his views on how inadequate parenting affects many Nigerians.

He argued that poor upbringing is a key reason why numerous individuals remain trapped in failure.

Terry G pointed out that parents’ negative remarks towards their children often result in lasting low self-esteem that carries into adulthood.

The Akpako Master encouraged Nigerians to break free from this pattern and adopt a more positive outlook on life.

On his X handle, Terry G wrote, “Our Nigerian parents really do many of us strong thing. The point I’m making is this :when you come under my post saying you’ll never make it that’s not really you speaking,it’s the voice of what you grew up hearing at home. When you say, ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that,’ you’re only repeating what your father and mother told u growing up.

“Now you see you’ve carried that same energy into adulthood, and that’s why many are stuck in failure.
It’s time to break that cycle.
It’s time to change that mindset.”
