Popular and often controversial relationship coach, Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has shared her views on the challenges facing contemporary marriages.

Speaking in a recent interview with Instablog TV, she pointed to excessive communication and the pervasive influence of social media as key reasons many modern unions fail.

She explained that the communal systems that once helped couples resolve disputes have lost their influence in today’s society.

Blessing further remarked that while the modern woman’s exposure and independence can be empowering, these same traits sometimes create tension in relationships, as some women find it difficult to strike a balance between autonomy and partnership.

She also highlighted that a woman’s success might unintentionally cause insecurity in her spouse—not necessarily because of her accomplishments, but due to the threat it may pose to his sense of masculinity.

Offering advice to women, she urged them to maintain their softness and femininity despite their achievements. According to her, when women adopt overly dominant or combative behaviors, it may drive their partners to seek emotional refuge elsewhere or abandon the marriage altogether.

“In our generation, because I am working and earning money, even if I am quarreling with my husband, what do I need to go to my husband for? Once a woman becomes independent, they begin to rub shoulders with men.

“A lot of people say that whenever a woman becomes successful the man becomes insecure. The truth is that no man is intimidated by your success, they are only afraid of the masculinity that comes with success.

“So women should always remember to be soft, no matter how much you have, because once you start to drag shoulders with your husband, he begins to cheat and look for a woman that is softer or he leaves the marriage,” Blessing CEO said.
