Wike: Rivers Assembly to begin proceedings for Fubara’s impeachment

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Rivers State has instructed the state House of Assembly to immediately start the impeachment process against the state’s governor, Siminialayi Fubara.

The Rivers Caretaker Committee, CTC of the party headed by Tony Okocha, revealed this on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.

Recall how the governor had attacked the Martin Amaewhule-led Assembly on Sunday, claiming that the lawmakers were no longer legally recognized as legislators.

In addition, Fubara stated that he agreed to President Bola Tinubu’s peace agreement to bring about calm in the state after a political upheaval that broke out last year.

The governor claimed that attending peace talks was necessary due to his differences with Nyesom Wike, his former political godfather.
