Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara’s chief of staff, Edison Ehie, has revealed that he received an offer of money to impeach the governor from office.
But Ehie revealed that he turned down the money given to impeach Fubara from office.
Over the weekend, the Chief of Staff gave a speech in Rivers State’s Ahoada East area without disclosing the names of individuals who made financial offers to him.
According to Ehie: “They invited me, your son, to impeach the governor, and I told them clearly that I was not interested.
“They gave me all the money that was hidden before, which I rejected. And because I refused, they conspired and declared me wanted.”
The police declared the former chief of staff wanted in 2023 concerning the State House of Assembly invasion.
A loud explosion rocked the state assembly building in October 2023 amid rumours that members were trying to remove Fubara from office.
The lawmakers led by Martin Amaewhule had filed criminal complaints against Ehie with the Rivers State Police Command about the break-in and arson by unidentified hoodlums at the Rivers State House of Assembly.
