Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho issues fresh eviction notice to armed herdsmen

Notorious herders who continue to abduct and rob people in the South West zone have received a new eviction notice from Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

Olayomi Koiki, the activist’s spokesperson, issued an audio message alerting the herders to depart right now.

Speaking in Yoruba, Koiki stated in the audio message: “On July 15, 2024, all the people living in Oke Ogun, living inside the bushes there, who are kidnappers and are killing the people, are immediately ordered to leave now. Sunday Igboho said he would continue his work at Oke-Ogun, in Kishi and all communities that made up Oke-Ogun. He said he would touch all those places remaining.

“All armed herdsmen should leave the bush in Oke-Ogun. The forest does not belong to you. The land belongs to us.”

In addition, he stated that he is waiting for the Obas in other Yoruba-speaking regions to come forward if they have seen armed herders invade their territories.

Igboho, as said in the recording, made it plain that he is not in conflict with any governor but is prepared to drive the herders who are bothering his people outside of their territory.

He said that after receiving approval from the rulers of Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, and Osun, his troops will comb every woodland that herders currently occupy throughout the Yoruba lands.

He mentioned his men. “are currently working on how to storm the forests in Oke Ogun land in Oyo and warned all armed herdsmen living there to vacate immediately”.

The inhabitants in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo, who have been victims of kidnapping, killings, and cultivation being forbidden as a result of the herders’ actions, may have been the source of the notification.
