What Captain of the Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong informed his teammates about participating in the upcoming World Cup has been made public.
He said that he is prepared to assist Nigeria in earning a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, beginning with the playoff match against Gabon on Thursday in Rabat, Morocco.
Nigerian athletes are reportedly skipping training sessions due to unpaid bonuses and allowances, according to ZINGTIE.
Troost-Ekong stated that the team is committed to making it to the championship in spite of this.
He claims that the players routinely talk about their aspirations to win the World Cup and that he often shares his personal experience with them.
“I did tell them what my experience was. And I am very much hungry for another time at the world stage,” he said while responding to a post by Victor Ademola.
“So, yeah, we understand the gravity of these games, and I think even for the young players.”
He pointed out that every member of the Super Eagles team aspires to become well-known.
“Nothing has changed from the games that we played before March. We still have to win these games.”
If Nigeria defeats Gabon on Thursday, they will play either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
