In order to defeat the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has stated that his squad must improve from their performance against Gabon.
At the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat on Thursday, Chelle’s team defeated the Panthers of Gabon 4-1 in the playoff semifinal.
On Sunday, the Super Eagles and Leopards will play in the championship game at the same location.
To guarantee a date with the Super Eagles, the Democratic Republic of Congo defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 1-0.
Chelle stated that they need to make amends before the last match.
“We did a lot of good things (vs Gabon), but bad things too. We have to correct some things for the second game but I am confident of my players and what they have done,” Chelle said during his interaction with the media after the game.
