Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwoland, has issued a warning that ongoing conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States could exacerbate global instability and intensify economic difficulties in numerous countries.

Amid the tensions in the Middle East, Oba Akanbi also urged Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, to place emphasis on peace and diplomatic dialogue.

The traditional ruler, in a personally signed statement on Monday, expressed his congratulations to Khamenei for becoming Iran’s leader during a crucial time for the global community.

Oba Akanbi emphasized that the leadership choices made by the new Supreme Leader could greatly impact the course of global peace and stability.

“Your administrative prowess is a factor to the world’s peace or otherwise,” the monarch stated, recognizing the fragile state of international relations in the region.

He also considered the recent events concerning the death of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, noting that this incident had heightened tensions.

“The world is groaning in pain. The Middle East is bleeding profusely. The pain of the gruesome assassination of the immediate past Supreme Leader of Iran cannot be forgotten in haste,” he said.

The Oluwo cautioned that ongoing conflicts were already impacting global economic conditions, highlighting that rising fuel prices and escalating living costs were exerting pressure on vulnerable populations.

“The economy is grounded already. The struggling classes are finding it harder to eat. The price of fuel has skyrocketed and is becoming unavoidable to the already suffering people,” he added.

He called on the Iranian leadership to view dialogue and reconciliation as a way to reduce tensions and avert further suffering for civilians.

“Embracing dialogue is not cowardice. Those who embrace peace are the true winners. If Mojtaba Khamenei says yes to peace today, the world will be peaceful,” Oba Akanbi said.
