An eyewitness captured a shocking attack on a commercial bus in Kogi State on Saturday, revealing the terrifying moment gunmen fired upon and abducted several passengers while the bus was moving.

As reported, the event took place on February 27, 2026, along the Ijowa–Ijagbe route in Mopamuro Local Government Area, a road infamous for sporadic bandit assaults.

The video, said to have been shot by a local who ascended a nearby tree, shows the assailants coming out of the undergrowth and shooting at the car as its occupants scream and flee.

The video depicts the bus driver being shot and fighting to maintain control of the vehicle while passengers take cover.

Several armed men are seen on camera compelling passengers to leave the bus and guiding them into the nearby woods, while a few travellers succeed in fleeing into the undergrowth. Shortly after the attack, a video filmed on a smartphone became viral on local messaging platforms.

During the attack, eyewitnesses verified that a minimum of six passengers were kidnapped, while the driver was gravely injured and taken to a local hospital.
