In order to overthrow the incumbent All Progress Congress (APC) in the 2027 election, the Adamawa State branch of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for a powerful and cohesive national coalition of well-meaning Nigerians.

At a gathering in Yola, Adamawa State ADC leaders and members stated that the “misrule” of the APC-led Federal Government should spur a nationwide political realignment aimed at ousting the party.

Malam Muhammad Shuwa, the ADC’s 2023 candidate for governor of Adamawa State, stated that in order to liberate Nigeria from the “crippling grip” of the APC, progressive politicians from all over the country must band together in a strong coalition.

Speaking during an ADC-organized “Convergence of Coalition Partners” in Yola, Shuwa stated that the planned alliance is primarily meant to initiate a comprehensive national reset rather than merely defeat the APC in 2027.

He claims that the reset will address insecurity, eradicate corruption, boost the economy, and rebuild public confidence in the government.

“This coalition is about reclaiming Nigeria. It’s not just about power; it’s about purpose. We must unite and offer Nigerians a viable alternative — one that will uproot the culture of mismanagement and hardship entrenched by the APC over the years,” Shuwa said.

Gombi, Sarauniyar Guyaku, and a retired Comptroller of Immigration, Hajiya Larai Zakari, also spoke and said he was hopeful that the ADC-led alliance would win in 2027.

“This coalition, under the leadership of ADC will succeed,” she asserted, praying for unity among coalition members to ‘save Nigeria from further deterioration’.

Shehu Kambile, the chairman of the Adamawa State ADC, stated that the event was intended to bring important political players together for a strategic discussion on the pressing problems facing the country and to create a united front in front of the 2027 elections.

“Our mission is to build a powerful, people-centered alliance that will rescue Nigeria from the stranglehold of bad governance. The time to act is now,” Kambile charged.
