Political leaders are allegedly frantically and aggressively attempting to weaken and destabilize Nigeria’s expanding opposition alliance, according to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) acting national publicity secretary, made the accusation in a statement on Monday.
Abdullahi accused prominent North-East and North-West officials and former ADC state chairman of calling a secret meeting with high-ranking government officials.
“We have credible intelligence that the aim of this meeting is not national security or peacebuilding,” Abdullahi said.
He claimed that the goal was to cause misunderstanding, undermine the credibility of ADC’s new leadership, and sabotage the organization’s developing reputation as the opposition’s spokesperson.
He asked the president to demonstrate to Nigerians his continued adherence to democratic ideals.
