The African Democratic Congress (ADC), a recently established opposition coalition group, will not survive, according to the presidency, which emphasizes that its lack of philosophy will cause it to disintegrate in six months.
In an appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Policy Communication, claimed that Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 vice presidential candidate, had already recognized the impending problem.
Recall that on July 4, Baba-Ahmed warned that the ADC may have significant challenges in the race for president. He cautioned that the euphoria around the coalition should be controlled and that the public should not become enthralled with it.
However, in response, the presidential adviser denied that the ADC had threatened Nigeria, stating that the alliance had failed to offer substitute ideas that would have persuaded Nigerians to support them.
“What I still find intriguing is that this coalition of internally displaced politicians has not been able to summon the courage to come up with alternative facts, alternative policies, or alternative programmes.
“Throughout the interview you had with Peter Obi, what I observed is that he has not been able to counter or disagree, in the real sense of the word, with the policies of the present government.
“They have not brought a single alternative policy to the table. All they do is criticise and issue press statements. The truth is, they lack vision and have not shown Nigerians they truly care,” he said.
The opposition leaders’ threat to Tinubu’s presidency was also dismissed by Bwala, who claimed that the new alliance was shaky and unlikely to last more than six months.
