Following the creation of the opposition coalition party in front of the general election in 2027, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi has come under fire from Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
During a media debate on Thursday, Wike said that Nigerians were unhappy with Amaechi because, while serving as minister, he had taken out Chinese loans and made Nigeria indebted to China.
“When you were in power, Nigerians were happy, but the moment you were no longer in power, Nigerians are no longer happy,” he said.
The former minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, was also criticized by the minister, who challenged him to explain the fate of the nation’s purported airline, Air Nigeria.
“I saw Sirika. What happened to Air Nigeria? Nigerians were happy then? “When they went to APC in 2013 and took over power, Nigerians were happy, but no longer happy today? Was it under Tinubu’s government that banditry came? What is he doing? To solve the problems he met.
“I read what Malami wrote. It was so shameful. He was AGF. What did he do? What was his contribution to resolving the security challenges.
“Tambuwal was Speaker for four years. What did he do to make Nigerians not angry? He was governor for eight years. What did he do? What kind of politics are we playing,” he asked.
Wike also aimed his criticism at Bolaji Abdullahi, the former Sports Minister and acting spokesperson for the recently established African Democratic Congress, ADC, claiming that he only joined the coalition due to a disagreement with his godfather, Senator Bukola Saraki.
He asserts that if the PDP organizes, they are the only party left capable of challenging Tinubu.
