2027: Consider this call – Ex-Buhari campaigner urges Jonathan to contest

previous President Goodluck Jonathan was urged to run for president in 2027 by Dr. Jibril Mustapha, the head of the Nigeria Rescue Mission Organization and the previous president of the Buhari Youth Organization (BYO).

Jonathan should follow the urge to run for president once more, Mustapha said in a statement released in Lagos on Sunday.

“As the nation prepares for the 2027 elections, the Nigeria Rescue Mission Organisation believes that now is the time for all stakeholders to come together and support a candidate who can genuinely represent the interests of all Nigerians.

“We urge former President Goodluck Jonathan to consider this call and to step forward as a candidate who can unite our country and lead us towards a brighter future.

“This appeal comes in light of the numerous challenges currently facing Nigeria, including economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and rampant banditry,” Mustapha said.

He says that a leader who exemplifies honesty, inclusivity, and a dedication to national unity is desperately needed.

Mustapha added: “Nigeria is at a crossroads. We are grappling with significant issues that threaten our stability and progress.

“We need a leader who can bring all Nigerians together, regardless of their background.”

He claimed that throughout his time in office, the former Nigerian leader showed a dedication to democratic principles and governance that put the well-being of all residents first.

He claims that the committee thinks Jonathan has the experience and vision needed to govern Nigeria.
