Okey Ikechukwu, a Professor of Strategic Management and Human Capital Development, has advised members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to deflate their egos if they wish to take part in next year’s general elections.

During a live interview on Arise Television, which ZINGTIE monitored, Ikechukwu offered the advice on Tuesday.

He spoke about the internal political struggles affecting the PDP and the recent Court of Appeal ruling that dismissed the faction of the party led by Taminu Turaki.

“PDP members need to deflate their egos if they want to participate in the next elections.

“If they head to the Supreme Court, even with an accelerated hearing, we can’t tell when the case will end.

“They don’t have time for political games, but they have enough time if they want to take part in the next elections. And the way forward is simple.

“So what I think the PDP should do is what former Senate President Bukola Saraki has suggested; bury the hatchet. I think there’s no hatchet to bury.

“They should sit down and answer three questions; do we want to be part of this election as the strongest opposition party that can displace the APC? If the answer is yes, the next question is, what is it we are going to do? We must have candidates who must have campaigns.

“Assuming we deal with these two factors, what is the third one? How do we mobilize for elections? And that mobilization involves e-registration,” he said.
