2027: Don’t expect automatic tickets, Ayiri Emami warns decampees

A leader of Delta State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned current lawmakers not to anticipate automatic tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that their various positions will be contested due to their defect from the PDP to the APC.

There was no political agreement with anyone, he insisted, that the positions would not be challenged, “We nor get agreement with anybody to that effect. Anybody wey say Dem nor go contest their position because them come join APC, lie. We must contest all positions.”

At a welcoming reception hosted in his honor by Prince Francis Agbowosile in Warri’s Ugbuwangue Community, Chief Emami delivered the warning.

He added that the only positions that has the support of the people of Warri Federal Constituency is the stance of the Presidency and the Governor.

Chief Emami maintained that if other local government councils declare they have no candidates for the 2027 elections, “in the Warri South and Warri North Local Government Areas respectively,”we have Senatorial Candidate”.

A resolution was made by Daniel Mayuku, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC’s only presidential candidate in 2027.

Mofe Matthew Edema, the previous chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, backed the move.

President Tinubu was swiftly endorsed as the APC’s only presidential contender for 2027 after Chief Emami put the matter to a voice vote of the party’s members in attendance.

Prince Yemi Emiko was among the several people that attended the ceremony.
