2027: How Goodluck Jonathan will help Tinubu win easily – PDP chieftain, Dan Ulasi

On Friday, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart Dan Ulasi cautioned against the return of former President Goodluck Jonathan to the party, especially if he intends to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Ulasi stated that President Bola Tinubu would have a straightforward path to victory should Jonathan run as the PDP candidate.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, the PDP figure asserted that Jonathan has little to contribute.

He also mentioned that a presidency from the Southeast would mark the definitive end of the Biafra civil war.

He said: “PDP has to get a candidate from the South which has to be determined internally… And I think it’s the turn of the Southeast to produce the president.

“I believe without trying to particularize that the PDP zones the presidency to the Southeast and a Southeasterner comes out to be president of this country, we would have achieved one thing, that would be the end of the civil war officially.

“That would be the first time the people of that zone are given a sense of belonging. We fought a war losing thousands of souls from both sides.

“Peter Obi, we are trying to see if we can get him back into the party and if we get him back it will be a big advantage.

“If a huge majority of people are looking towards Peter Obi, there must be some qualities he has that the majority of citizens believe that, if translated into good use, this country will be a lot better than what it is today.

“He (Jonathan) has done six years and I wish him the best of luck. If he wants to get back to the party, it will be an easy win for Tinubu because he has nothing else to offer.”
