Prior to the 2027 election, former Social Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has declared that he will not resign in favor of former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

In an interview with Channels TV on Wednesday night, Adebayo revealed this in response to rumors that Atiku would run for president in 2027 using the SDP as a platform.

He explained that the only way for Atiku or any other candidate to obtain the party’s ticket is to join it and adhere to the proper procedures.

He said, “I will not step down for Atiku Abubakar and he has not said that anybody should step down for him.

“Neither me nor Atiku Abubakar can use the SDP. The party belongs to the Nigerian people, nobody can use it.

“What can happen is that those who believe in the ideology of the party can come to the party. We are not available to be used, if you want to join us, you can join us”.

According to ZINGTIE, leaders of the opposition have decided to form a coalition in order to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.

The prominent individuals leading the movement are Atiku, Peter Obi, a former Labour Party presidential candidate, and Nasir El-rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State.
