The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra State Chapter has urged Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, to rejoin the party.

According to the ZINGTIE, Obi left the PDP to join the LP because he believed he could not fulfill his dream of becoming president.

Following Thursday’s expanded State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting in Awka to assess the party’s current situation and determine its future, the PDP made the request.

The communique, which was signed by Chidi Chidebe, the party’s state chairman, stated that coalitions involving ideologically incompatible political groupings would probably not succeed as planned.

“The committee extends an open invitation to all aggrieved and former members of the PDP in Anambra, particularly our revered former governor, Mr Peter Obi, to return home and reunite with the now rejuvenated and restructured PDP.

“We will gladly welcome our brothers and sisters back to join us in the collective quest for a better Nigeria,” he said.

Chidebe urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, to guarantee a fair, open, and unbiased electoral process and urged the people of Anambra to support Mr. Jude Ezenwafor and his running mate, Mr. Francis Okeke, in the upcoming election.

Chidebe encouraged the Southeast Zonal Executive Committee, led by Chief Ali Odefa, to acknowledge and forward Chief Clems Ezike’s unanimous nomination to the empty post of National Ex-Officio from Anambra to the national secretariat.
