The Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee, NWC, has strongly warned members who are publicly supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reelection in 2027 and other anti-party acts.
The NWC voiced grave concerns about the frequent public media outbursts and statements of support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) by some high-profile party members in a statement signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary, on Friday.
According to the NWC, “Such actions violate Section 10 (6) of the PDP Constitution as amended in 2017, which prohibits members from aligning with other political parties or groups in a manner that undermines the PDP or any of its elected governments.”
If left unchecked, the actions of these members have been producing dissension, disenchantment, and a large loss of members, the party leadership warned, which might hurt the PDP’s chances of winning elections.
The NWC declared that it had formally reprimanded those implicated and warned them to stop or face harsher sanctions, using Section 59 (1) of the PDP Constitution.
Additionally, the committee exhorts all members to stay faithful, concentrated, and dedicated to the party’s success, especially in the run-up to its National Convention, which is scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
