The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, is repositioned and prepared for the general elections in 2027, according to Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Speaking to reporters on the fringes of the party’s state conference in Yola, Fintiri made this claim.
“We are trying to give birth to a new PDP where everyone will believe, trust and have confidence in. We are really positioned, and we are ready for 2027.
“The congress was transparent and fair, the party is moving at supersonic speed and the government has recalibrated the system to provide good governance for the people,” he said.
The governor went on to say that the party and the administration were collaborating to make people happy, and that the large number of people attending the congress was evidence of the public’s trust in the government.
He asserted that the party’s affairs would be directed for the following four years by the new leaders chosen at the congress.
“We know them and we have confidence in them, they have experience in party politics, and we believe they will lead us well as we work towards 2027.
“By God’s will, we will get there and produce another good government, just as we have experienced in the last eight years,” Fintiri said.
In addition, Mrs. Golfa Mallim, a candidate for the Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, complimented the recently elected executives and encouraged them to build on the party’s achievements.
She characterized Alhaji Hamza Madagali, the newly appointed state chairman, as a visionary leader and a man of the people whose dedication to grassroots development and unity will fortify the PDP.
“This is a memorable moment for us in the PDP, Alhaji Madagali has passion, love and dedication for the growth of the party at all levels.
“His leadership would guarantee a stronger PDP capable of reclaiming more political seats in 2027,” she said.
Mallim cautioned that internal strife could hurt the party’s prospects in next elections and urged members to embrace harmony and reconciliation.
“For us to succeed as a party, we must set aside differences and work collectively. Supporting Alhaji Madagali is the first step towards a revitalised and formidable PDP in Adamawa,” she added.
To guide the party for the ensuing four years, Adamawa PDP delegates chose Mr. Saleh Shelleng as Secretary and Alhaji Hamza Madagali as State Chairman.
