The governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has disclosed the actual motivations behind state governors nationwide switching to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During an interview on the Channels Television program Politics Today, Governor Sule stated that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms are the reason for the large number of defections into the ruling party.

ZINGTIE reports that recently, several governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), along with Abba Yusuf, the sole New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) governor from Kano State, have joined the ruling party.

“Why do the political parties panic when the governors are leaving, and their departure does not mean anything? Why does the governors’ departure become a betrayal or a problem?

“As at yesterday, we welcomed the 29th governor; that is the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang. The governor of Taraba will also be received officially into the party in the next two days.

“More governors are joining the APC because of the impact they have been able to make, driven by the reforms of President Tinubu.

“If you go to every state in Nigeria, you will see major changes as a result of the improved revenue that these governors are getting,” Sule said.
