Abubakar Malami, the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, was visited by the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) National Legal Support Team on Friday at his Abuja private office.
According to the ZINGTIE, the visit was made in support of Malami after he recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the ADC.
Prior to the general elections in 2027, the delegation, which was led by M.E. Sheriff, Dr. Al’amin Muhammad, A.I. Garba, I.R. Abdullahi, and Saidu Yusuf, reportedly talked about internal legal frameworks and party strategy.
The delegation stressed the importance of fostering political inclusion and fortifying legal institutions during the conference.
In a brief statement, Malami expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed his dedication to national progress and justice.
Citing his displeasure with the government’s management of the economy, national security, and governance, he had announced his departure from the APC on July 3.
The gathering is viewed as a component of the ADC’s larger initiatives to gain traction after a string of high-profile defections.
