Olaniyi Olawale, a public affairs analyst, has outlined the reasons why the North-West area of Nigeria is anticipated to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the run-up to the general election in 2027.

He cited the nearly finished Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highways, the Kano-Maiduguri, and other project executions as evidence that President Tinubu had completed a number of historic projects in the area to justify the support.

Olawale, who also served as the coordinator of the Progressive Foundation Movement (PFM), claimed that because of Tinubu’s administration’s developmental interest in the area, Kano stakeholders, including former All Progressives Congress chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, the lawmaker for the Bichi Federal Constituency and the head of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi, and other influential figures, mobilized support for him.

“The Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road is almost completed. Kano-Maiduguri sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are almost completed. The Kano-Katsina project is almost completed.

“And in the next one to two months, Mr President will come to Kano to lay the foundation for the Light Rail project in Kano State.

“That project will cost more than one billion US dollars and, of course, is going to be one of the most important projects in Northern Nigeria,” he said.

According to ZINGTIE, Ganduje, Bichi, and others rallied support for Tinubu on Thursday.
