There have been no talks between Mr. Peter Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over a possible combined ticket for the general elections in 2027, according to Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the Obidient Movement’s interim national coordinator.

Tanko made a statement on Tuesday while answering questions on Prime Time on Arise Television.

“That topic hasn’t even come up. People are speculating, but there’s no such talk now,” he said.

However, Tanko affirmed that discussions with stakeholders and like-minded political parties were still going on.

He emphasized that national interest, not elite political arrangements, must be the driving force behind any future partnership.

The movement’s present goal, according to Tanko, is to form a broad coalition based on honesty, inclusivity, and service to the Nigerian people.

Tanko added that Obi is a man of his word and that he will adhere to a coalition agreement for him to serve only one term.
